Scheldeprijs

Ancient race (114th edition) considered the 'unofficial world championship for sprinters' — there are so many races competing for that honour — covering three final laps in Schoten with the Broekstraat pavé section, which in principle should not prevent a mass sprint finish. The transition to that circuit will cover almost eighty kilometres through Dutch territory, a cross-border circumstance not so common in Northern classics.
