The Tour de France starts on home soil for the second time in three years, with three days across Catalan territory beginning in Barcelona.
An unusual team time trial for the 'Grande Boucle' in recent years, one that helps erase the wretched start to the 2023 Vuelta and that will test a different finish in Montjuïc, uphill.
A crucial detail, above all because of the route's closing profile: as in Paris-Nice or Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the time is set by the first rider of each team across the line. The leaders will go all out on the final stretch.
