As is tradition, the Sibiu Tour takes the peloton up to Păltiniș, one of Romania's leading ski resorts, with a first summit finish perfect for starting to sort out the general classification.
The hardest part of the climb, around nine kilometres at 7%, crests 3 km from the finish. The final section of the ascent, though it offers some respite, is treacherous: ramps of 2-3%.

There are 10-6-4" at the finish and 3-2-1" at the intermediate sprints.
